Description
Production of an artwork by Alicja Kwade installed in the space of the former St. Agnes church (now gallery space) in Kreuzberg. The light and sound installation is based on the Foucault Pendulum: A light bulb, the only source of light in the completely darkened church space, is suspended from the roof, and swings in the empty space, throwing shadows. A microphone is connected to the bulb to accompany the dancing light and shadows by the amplified friction noise.
The movement of the pendulum is controlled electronically and turns the movement of the bulb against the natural rotation of the earth, to east.
